Writing my weird brand of poetry to celebrate a successful project team: by utilising the meters of Greek and Latin verse which I loved composing at university, I write rhyming poems in English, usually charged with double meaning!

Solving problems by analyzing out their root cause: having had to resolve commercial problems on engineering contracts for 30 years, my motivation has been to prevent these recurring by removing the flaws that cause them
The prospect of using the age of austerity to wake organisations up to the genuine win/win opportunities of improving service and cutting costs – by removing fragmentation, process waste and conflict
How young entrants to our industry, unencumbered by the baggage of division and conflict, can link with the older visionaries and turn dreams to reality
The opportunity to share such experiences with other sectors; for example, as a trustee of St Christopher’s hospice where the palliative care movement was founded by Dame Cicely Saunders almost 50 years ago, we have pilot projects under which we coordinate palliative and social care – with the prospect of both improving the quality of care and cutting its cost by having one, not two, taking responsibility.
